Support Group Online Forum

Welcome! to FVCDC's online parent to parent support for caregivers of children with complex developmental behaviours and/or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.

In this forum, you the parent (or other primary caregiver) can submit questions, share experiences, get ideas, and make suggestions. In other words, you can provide, and receive information and support from other parents in Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack and the surrounding area who are going through similar experiences. All without having to rush out the door to another meeting!

Grandparents, birth parents, aunties and uncles, foster parents, adoptive parents, and more. All are welcome, as long as they have primary care of their child, birth to eighteen years old, most of the time.

Your child does not need a diagnosis. As long as you suspect that FASD or a similar complex developmental behavior may be part of the problem, you are able to join us. A definition of complex developmental behavioural conditions is as follows:

Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions

  • children who have difficulty in multiple areas of functioning, whether or not they have prenatal alcohol exposure including:

– development
– learning
– mental health/behaviour and
– adaptive and social skills.

This is a confidential service, run by our keyworkers, and you must be a member to join and to view the conversations. (You do not need to be a client.) Postings are monitored and need to be on topic. As a parent to parent support member you will be invited, together with your family, to an annual opportunity to meet others on the list, face to face, in a relaxed outdoor setting.
